World Breathing Day - A reminder to slow down pause and breathe


Breath is a bridge to mind and body, oxygen is life's most important nutrient. We can live without food for a month, without water for 2 days, without sleep for 2 weeks but we can only survive without air for a few minutes.


Breath speaks directly to your brain. Slower controlled breathing sends signals that help shift you out of stress into a calmer state which can: 


• lower heart rate


• reduce stress


• improve mindfulness


• support better sleep


What is Pranayama ?

Pranayama is the control or expansion of breath, energy and our vital life force. It is one of the eight limbs of yoga and can be practised without physical yoga poses. Learning and practising techniques can help support body, mind and wellbeing.



Breath is a tool for wellness and health not just for yogi's. In times of stress or worry connect with your breath and use it to calm the inner storm.
